Tom Tribone

Chief Executive Officer

Founder and CEO of Franklin Park (FP). Formerly Executive Vice President of the AES Corporation. A prime mover behind the growth of AES from its start-up phase to a global, $30 billion enterprise.

Originated and executed most of AES’s first-of-a-kind transactions, many of which are now commonplace in the industry. In addition to transaction experience, he has been responsible for the day-to-day operations of power companies with over 20 million customers, 19,000MW of generation and 50,000 employees.

His unique, people-centered management style was developed early in his career as described in the book, What America Does Right. In addition to his commercial activities, Tom is a Board member of the Strategic Energy Institute at Georgia Tech, The Great Lakes Energy Institute (Chairman) and Duquesne University. He holds a BSc with High Honors in Chemical Engineering, an MBA and a Juris Doctorate.

Tom was a finalist for the 2016 Standard and Poors Global Energy Award for Lifetime Achievement.

Sonny Lulla

Managing Member

Co-founder of FP and CEO of Infrastructure India plc, an AIM quoted closed end fund. Sonny also sits on the Board of Trustees of Macalester College. Formerly President of AES Brasil Energia, generating over $1 billion in annual revenue, over 3,000MW of generation and 2 million customers.

Sonny has held positions in utility financing and operations at CMS Energy, Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse. He has over 20 years industry experience and holds a BA Hons.

Rob Venerus

Managing Member

Co-founder of FP and former officer and Vice President of the AES Corporation. Rob was responsible for the start-up of non-power global infrastructure development.

Prior to this, Rob led business development and was responsible for several of AES most significant transactions. He has also worked at PSEG. He holds a BA and MBA.

Ismael Rodriguez

Investment team at Franklin Park. Formerly CEO of Electro Dunas in Peru. Prior to this, Ismael was a Director of PSEG, a large US diversified energy corporation, and CEO of a subsidiary, ElectroAndes.

Ismael has extensive transaction and operational experience spanning 16 countries across Europe, Asia and the Americas. He holds a BE, MBA and ME.

Balraj Varma

Chief Operating Officer

Investment team at Franklin Park. Formerly President of America’s Energy Holding Company, developing hydropower plants in Latin America.

Prior to this, Balraj was Executive Vice President of India Hydropower Development Company and Vice President of Dodson-Lindbolm International. He has over 35 years industry experience and expertise in project development and engineering and holds a BE Hons.

Libby Havercroft

Managing Director

Investment team at Franklin Park. Formerly Director of Mergers and Acquisitions at Fairfax Investment Bank.

Prior to this, Libby was at Investec Bank and the London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange. She has over 15 years industry experience and holds a BA and MBA.

Krishan Rattan

Senior Advisor

Advisor to the investment team at Franklin Park. Formerly Global Head of the Alternative Capital Solutions Group at Societe Generale in London and founder of Deep Blue Advisors, an AI driven company focused on deriving trading insights from alternative data sets.

Prior to this, Krishan held leadership roles within the emerging markets groups at Deutsche Bank and Credit Suisse. He has over 17 years industry experience and specific expertise in alternative financial structuring and holds a MFE from UC Berkeley.

Pranav Bhuta

Vice President
Investment team at Franklin Park. Formerly part of the investment team at Guggenheim Partners in India.

Prior to this, Pranav was at Thomas Weisel Partners, Ernst & Young, Standard & Poor’s and AIG Private Equity. He has over 11 years industry experience and holds an MBA.

Manan Parikh

Asset Manager

Formerly, Manan was part of the asset management group at Pattern Energy where he supported a 2 GW portfolio of operational and pipeline wind and solar projects. Prior to Pattern, Manan was an analyst for Wood Mackenzie and Greentech Media, focusing on international power and renewables market research and consulting.

Manan has also worked as a research contractor for the state of California’s rural EV infrastructure deployment initiative, and with the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE) on their biomass advocacy platform. Manan received a BS from The University of Texas at Austin and was a part of the Clean Energy Leadership Institute’s (CELI) Summer 2013 fellowship cohort.

Kevin Lapidus

Chief Investment Officer

Chief Investment Officer of Franklin Park. Formerly, one of the early SunEdison employees, Kevin served as the SVP Corporate Development, SVP Business Development, SVP Regulatory Affairs and General Counsel.

Kevin led SunEdison’s global corporate and project mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic partnerships. Prior to SunEdison, Kevin was a corporate finance and M&A attorney. He holds a Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School, cum laude, and a BA in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis

Kevin is a board member of Plus Power, a leading battery storage development company.

Raj Mehta

Principal

Vice President and part of the renewables investment team at Franklin Park.

Formerly, Director of Corporate Development at SunEdison, where Raj led the execution of a number of M&A transactions across the solar and wind sectors. Prior to SunEdison, Raj worked as an investment banker at Credit Suisse and at BAML. Raj holds an MBA and a BA in Economics.

Brett Prior

Principal

Vice President and part of the renewables investment team at Franklin Park.

Formerly, he served as the Head of Investor Relations for both TerraForm Power and TerraForm Global, two publicly listed Yieldcos that own 3 GW of wind & solar plants across 11 countries. Prior to TerraForm, Brett was part of the Corporate Development team at SunEdison, acquiring solar plants. Prior to SunEdison, Brett worked in market research and consulting at Greentech Media. Brett also spent six years as a buyside analyst at mutual fund managers in New York and Hawaii. Brett received an MBA from London Business School, and a BA from Yale University. He is also a CFA.

Barrett Gold

Vice President

Vice President and part of the investment team at Franklin Park. Formerly, he was the first expatriate employee and led investments for Virunga Power, a sub-Saharan renewable energy-based mini-grid development company, where he successfully closed on over $10M of development and Series A corporate capital.

Prior to Virunga, Barrett was an investment banker at J.P. Morgan in the technology coverage group. Barrett holds a BBA of Finance from the University of Georgia, cum laude.

Daniel Purzycki, P.E.

Director of Engineering

Director of Engineering and part of the renewables investment team at Franklin Park.

Formerly, Director of Control & Governors with Alstom Power (General Electric Renewables Energy). Prior to this he was President and Co-owner of North American Phoenix Energy. Dan has over 40 years of combined engineering, project and general management experience and holds a BSEE degree.

Dustin Klein

Associate

Associate and part of the investment team at Franklin Park. Formerly, Dustin was a financial analyst at DCO Energy, an independent energy development company, where he focused primarily in FP&A and project finance. Prior to DCO Energy, Dustin held roles at Kindle Energy and NRG Energy. Dustin holds a BA in Economics and Environmental Studies from the University of Pennsylvania. He is currently a CFA candidate.

Matt Calvi

Vice President

Vice President and part of the investment team at Franklin Park. Formerly, he was employed at New Fortress Energy, where he evaluated and managed LNG infrastructure development opportunities globally.

Prior to New Fortress Energy, Matt worked at AES Infrastructure Advisors, an investment platform established by the AES Corporation to invest in energy transition infrastructure. In this role Matt evaluated investment opportunities across wind, utility-scale and distributed solar, battery energy storage, and natural gas-fired power generation. Matt holds a BSBA in Finance & International Business from Washington University in St. Louis.

Neil McQeen

Senior Associate

Senior Associate and part of the investment team at Franklin Park. Formerly, he was a member of the investments team at National Grid Renewables, a utility-scale renewable energy development company, where he focused on investment execution, project M&A, and new business strategy efforts.

Prior to National Grid Renewables, Neil held roles at Affinius Capital (formerly Square Mile Capital) and Eastdil Secured. Neil holds a BA in Economics and Environmental Studies from the University of Michigan.
